Volunteer At Sycamore Historical Society and Museum
|
Interested in your community’s history? Like talking to people? Don’t like talking to people, but like looking at old artifacts, photographs and letters? Then contact us to learn about volunteer opportunities at the Sycamore Historical Society. You don't have to be an expert in Sycamore history to participate!
On April 14, the Museum will begin Saturday hours and there is a need for people to volunteer from 10:00-1:00. In addition, databasing projects, filing, copying, researching, and writing are just a few examples of where volunteer help is also needed. There are also special events were your help is only needed for a few hours once a year.
Volunteering at the Historical Society and Museum is a great way to learn more about where you live. You not only discover your community's history, but you get to meet out-of-town visitors, scout groups, as well as local residents and their families. We will provide you with the training - giving tours, filing, using our computer. If you have some time and want to make an investment in where you live, this is the perfect opportunity. There are a wide range of projects, so stop in to learn more about us!
Please call if you would like additional information 815-895-5762 or email sychist@tbc.net. The Sycamore Historical Society and Museum is located at 308 W. State Street, Lower Level. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 - 1:00, Saturdays starting April 14 from 10:00 - 1:00, and by appointment.
