Worden, 63 1023 North Court Street, Rockford, Illinois died at 7:30 p. m.
Sunday May 12, 1963 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart
attack. Born January 20, 1900 in South
Grove Township, Ill., The son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Worden. He lived 49 years in Rockford, coming here from Clare, IL. Married to the former Margaret Sherard in
Rockford.
Employed as a truck driver
for the Smith Oil company for about 30 years.
Member of the Court Street Methodist Church and of Masonic Lodge No.
166, A. F. & A. M.; OX5 Club, a club connected with the building or using
OX5 airplane engines used to power early U. S. airplanes. He was one of Rockfords first pilots to hold
a transport license. Survivors include:
his wife; a son , Leon Sherard, Rockford; Two grandchildren, Kurt and Kristie
Sherard, Rockford and a niece, Mrs. Sherman Conners, Clare.
Services at 1:30 p.m. in BURPEE-WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 420 N. Main Street with the Rev. Harold McElvany, pastor of the Court St. Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic rites will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
