Shabbona Grave Yard was located near the NE SE quarter of Section 25. The remains of Mrs.
Lyman was the first interred in 1840 or 1841. Possibly twelve other people were buried here,
but the cemetery was abandoned and nothing visible remains.

Early land records indicate that the following people were land owners in...

Section 25:

Marham Gates in 1846
William Marks in 1843
Orrin McDaniels in 1846
Colman Olmstead in 1843
William White in 1843
Nathan Olmstead in 1845

Section 24:

Harvey E. Allen in 1846
Reuben Allen in 1849
Elizabeth Miller in 1843
Terry Thomas in 1846

Section 26:

Miles Norton in 1843
David Sanger in 1843

It is assumed that of the other reported interments in this Grave Yard some of the deaths may have occurred
in the households of these residents prior to the establishment of the cemetery in Section 15 and 27.
